Different Ranks:
There are different ranks for different species, but they basically are the same things. For the other creatures there isn't a very set social order (except wolves) therefore they do not need such rankings.
Human Ranks:
Clan Chief - He/she who rules their Clan with wisdom and courage, or tyranny and fear. They are the highest rank possible and are to be the most respected of all the Clan people. All of the Clan answers to the Clan Chief
War Chief - The Clan Chief's right hand. The War Chief makes sure daily life is as it should be and when in times of war they are the strategists and the person that leads the battles.
Shaman - There is a single Shaman in all of the Clans. The Shaman is the man or woman who is closet to nature and the spirits and they also take care of the sick and injured. They are the spiritual guide of the Clan but the Shaman still answers to the Chief, although most of the Clan Chiefs consider them an equal.
Warriors - Any strong, able bodied man can be a warrior of the Clan. Few women are warriors, but it isn't impossible. Warriors defend their Clan's home and people. They will follow the War Chief into battle whenever called on, but they will disobey if it goes against the Clan Chief's word.
Hunters - The fast, nimble, and smart men and women of the tribe become hunters. Those who know the tracks of their prey, the trails they take, the food they eat, and most importantly how to make a clean and painless kill. The hunters supply the Clan with meat and fish to eat and the parts of the animal that can be used in other things.
The People - Those men and women who are neither hunter nor warrior. Instead they gather plants, build shelters, make clothes among other things, and take care of the children and elders.
Adepts - Those too young to become a Shaman, warrior, or hunter. Each child has a teacher to introduce them into their world. At the age of 16 they take up the duties they were taught, although they enter as the least experienced and don't get very many duties.
Youngins - From the age of 0 - 9 they are taken care of by the People and their parents.
Elders/Wounded: Those who are too old, injured, or sick to take care of themselves or help the rest of the Clan. They are taken care of by the People and the Shaman.
::Will add Wolf Ranks when someone acquires a wolf character::
